Baluster-shaped, each vase rests on a high moulded circular pedestal foot and rises to a narrow neck flaring at the rim. The handles are modelled as ram’s heads in bold relief.
HARD-PASTE PORCELAIN.
The bodies are decorated with horizontal bands. The upper section has a white ground finely scattered with small gilt flowers and leafy sprigs. The central band is adorned with a broad green-and-yellow frieze of lozenge motifs, framed by gold lines. At the centre, a coral-ground band is enriched with scrolling foliage and so-called “Salembier” arabesques, combining palmettes and polychrome scrolls, punctuated with small oval reserves depicting animated landscapes. The lower section of the body is decorated with broad stylised acanthus leaves in grisaille, heightened with gold. Broad gilt bands accentuate the borders and structure of the body. The handles are entirely gilded.
