Of the so-called "Jasmin" shape. The cup features a flared rim and rests on a widened foot highlighted by a moulded band. The elevated scroll handle is attached beneath the rim and to the body by a stylized palmette-shaped terminal. The matching saucer, slightly flared in form, stands on a high foot ring hollowed with a recessed groove.
Hard-paste porcelain.
The cup has a white ground decorated with a brown grisaille landscape painted in the manner of an engraving.
The body is entirely decorated with a continuous panoramic landscape scene depicting a rural setting composed of trees, rolling hills, and architectural features. In the foreground appear small figures, fishermen and walkers, enlivening the composition.
The matching saucer repeats this decoration in the form of a circular landscape frieze surrounding the well, which is left in reserve and centred with a radiating gilt motif. Broad gilt bands accentuate the borders.
